Hillsboro Emblem Club 277 holds June meeting

Hillsboro Emblem Club
Hillsboro Emblem Club 277 met on June 9 for its "bring your own picnic lunch" get-together.
We had a great time, even though we had planned to meet at Harmony Lake, but thought it might rain us out. It didn't, thank Heavens, and we enjoyed each other's company, including special guests Dan and Beverly Mayo, representing the Modern Woodmen Company.
Thanks to the generosity of Modern Woodmen, our club has been chosen to receive a substantial donation of funds to be used for our Charitable First Baptist Church Diaper Depot, the Pregnancy Center's Diaper program, and the First Baptist Church Blessing Bag program.
With this tremendous donation, we will be able to also include the annual Nursing Home Christmas Gifts for residents who do not have family members available, and the Veterans' Christmas Stocking Stuffer program as well.
Sincere thanks to member Emmy Selby, who coordinated this event for us. Emblem Club will be on our summer hiatus for the months of July and August, but will resume regular meetings beginning Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. at the lodge.
For anyone wishing information about how Emblem Club 277 began, and the unbelievable charitable works we continue to support in Highland County and Hillsboro, please contact President Christine Storer at (937) 393-4398 or Press Correspondent Leslie Ramsey at (740) 971-8487.
