Highland County Democrats will host their annual party picnic on Sunday, Aug. 3, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at Hillsboro’s Church of the Nazarene.
Ohio State Rep. Dani Isaacsohn is this year’s featured guest speaker. Representative Isaacsohn is serving his second term representing Ohio’s 24th House District, which includes downtown Cincinnati, Fairmount, Price Hill and surrounding neighborhoods. He serves as the ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee and is a sitting member of the House Finance and Energy committees.
Democratic Party Chair, Dinah Phillips says, “The picnic is always a great opportunity to share the latest news and get inspired. There’s just nothing like a picnic to bring people together. And, we have a lot of new faces this year. We’re very happy to welcome Representative Isaacshohn, who believes Ohio could and should be the best state in the country to raise a family, go to school, and grow older. We think so, too. We’re looking forward to hearing his ideas.”
The picnic committee will be serving chicken, baked beans, casseroles, Veronica’s mac and cheese, and homemade deserts. Phillips says, “A good meal always helps get the conversation started. And we have a lot to talk about this year.”
The Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene is at 8230 Us Highway 50. Dress is casual, dues and contributions will be accepted at the door, and the event is open to all those interested in hearing Representative Isaacsohn’s comments.
