Summer Reading Adventure has begun at the Greenfield Library. Our theme this summer is "Make a Splash Read." Our programs, storytimes and camp will all revolve around the water theme and making a Splash. We had a great Kick-Off Luau on May 15. We had over 100 sign up for summer reading that day. But it's not too late, you can sign up for fun summer reading anytime through the end of July.
Check out these upcoming events:
• JUNE 1 5:00 8:00 PM CPR CLASS Debbie Hensley will conduct this free class. There is a limit of 8 people, 8 years old and older, so please call, and pre-register.
• JUNE 3 - 11:00 AM 12:00 Noon - STROKE SUPPORT GROUP - this group is for stroke survivors, caregivers, or families of stroke victims. It will be the 1st Thursday of each month and is presented by the Greenfield Area Medical Center.
• JUNE 8 6:00 7:00 PM DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY. Gracie Ehlers will present a program on how to use your digital camera and hints to get your best photos. Everyone invited
• JUNE 9 JULY 14 Wednesday mornings from 10:30 Noon GREENFIELD LIBRARY CAMP. There will be stories, crafts, games, & refreshments. This free camp is for ages 4 grade 4. Please pre-register.
• JUNE 16 5:00 PM - THE BOOKWORMS (adult book discussion group) The June selection will be "Fortune is a Woman" by Elizabeth Adler. Stop by, pick up a book & join us. Everyone is welcome.
• JUNE 26 2:00 PM The Greenfield Historical Society and the Greenfield Library Genealogy Club will present a program with Liz Plummer from the Ohio Historical Society. She will introduce all the resources available at the OHS for people searching for family history. The day will start from 10:30 12 with self guided tours of the Greenfield Historical Society buildings, then a lunch from 12:00 1:30 pm, then the guest speaker at 2:00 pm. The lunch and program will be at the Greenfield First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall and there will be a $10 charge per person to cover the lunch, program & tour. Stop at the library and pick up a form or call 937-981-2905 with any questions.
• JUNE 28 6:30 PM Genealogy Club. Ike Hodson, Highland County Recorder will be the speaker. He will tell about all the available records that the recorders office has to help people searching for family genealogy information.
• We have great weekly Storytimes: Tuesday 11:00 am - 2's & 3's & caregiver -- Thursday 6:00 pm age 3 & up. They include stories and a craft or activity.
