FFA Beef exhibitors had great week at Highland County Fair

This year at the 2025 Highland County Fair, we had 5 members of the Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA Chapter exhibit a beef project at this year’s county fair. 

The members are as listed, Braydon Burkard, Braydon had Reserve Champion Shorthorn and Reserve Champion AOB heifer in the open show and in the Jr show he was 3rd in his AOB heifer class. Next is Cameron Burkard, Cameron was Grand Champion Shorthorn in the open show, 3rd overall 17 year old showman, and in the Jr show he was Grand and Reserve Champion Shorthorn, Cameron also was the 17 year old skillathon winner, was apart of the 3rd place senior fitting team, and was 3rd overall senior judger. 

Next we have Brayden Cummings, Brayden was Reserve Champion fat steer in the Jr Show, Grand Champion county born and bred fat steer, Reserve Champion Intermediate showman, and had the 4th overall feeder calf in the open show. Next up is Brianna Fox, Brianna had the Grand Champion Chianina and Angus heifers, she also brought the Reserve Champion crossbred heifer, also achieved Outstanding Breeding Exhibitor for the Intermediate age division, won the 15 year old skillathon for not only Beef, but Alpaca and Poultry as well, was the 15 year old book winner, and won her age group for showmanship. 

Lastly, we have Connor Yochum, Connor had the Grand Champion crossbred heifer, won the Champion Beef Showman Sweepstakes, participated in the showman of showman contest representing the Beef, and was Reserve Champion overall heifer. These 5 members each had an amazing fair week, and as a chapter we are so proud to have them representing us the Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA Chapter at the 2025 Highland County Fair this year.
