This week, the Highland County District Library said goodbye to Erma Gibbs, one of its longest-serving employees.

Erma began working at the Hillsboro Public Library in 1993, when the Internet and the SEO Consortium were far in the future. Since that time Erma has seen the library's annual circulation grow from 175,090 in 1993 to 699,007 to 2009, and many new formats added.

The library staff thanks Erma for her years of service to the Highland County community
and wish her a happy retirement although she will be no less busier.[[In-content Ad]]
