The Highland Humane Society is drawing attention to one dog in particular, after she has spent 100 days at the shelter looking for her forever home.

According to the Humane Society:

This isn't a plea for money, but a heartfelt request to help us find Mary Kate a loving home.

Mary Kate has hit a milestone at our shelter that we never want to celebrate – she's been with us for 100 days.

That's far too long for any animal, especially for a dog as sweet and affectionate as Mary Kate. Despite her extended stay, she has maintained her friendly and social personality. She's everyone's friend, both human and canine.

She loves attention, playtime outside, and playing with other dogs. However, what she looks forward to the most is becoming a cherished member of someone's family. Imagine her playing with children, bonding with other dogs and snuggling up with her new family.

Mary Kate is over a year old now. We believe she's a blend of Rottweiler and beagle, with perhaps another breed or two mixed in. She weighs 42 lbs and is the perfect family dog, ready to bring joy and love into your home.

Please help us spread the word or consider giving Mary Kate the home she deserves. You won't find a better companion than her.

Mary Kate's adoption fee is $150. She has received a Bordetella vaccine, three DAPP vaccines and regular flea & tick treatments. She tested negative for heartworm and Lyme disease. She will be microchipped and scheduled for her spay and rabies vaccine upon adoption.

Feel free to visit our shelter and meet Mary Kate in person. She would love to meet you.

Thank you for your support and kindness.
