Executive Board meets May 16
The Highland County Emergency Management Executive Board will meet May 16 at 7 p.m. at the EMA office, located at 1487 North High Street, Suite 500 (Hillsboro Business Center).

• On May 4, the Highland County Historical Society will host a Member
Appreciation Potluck at the Highland House museum, starting at 6 p.m.

their monthly Heritage Music Series concert and social hour. Call for

Recovery program
meets on Tuesdays
The Celebrate Victory Recovery Program meets every Tuesday night at 7
p.m. at ReaLife Church, located at 230 West South Street, Hillsboro.
Alzheimer’s Support
Group meetings
The Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Cincinnati will sponsor a
Highland County Alzheimer’s/Dementia Family Caregiver Support Group on the
third Monday of each month from 5-6:30 p.m. at Highland District Hospital.

Eagles host Thursday bingo
The Hillsboro Eagles host bingo on Thursday nights. Doors open at 5:30
p.m., and games start at 7 p.m.
AA meetings in Rainsboro
The Rocky Fork Lake/Rainsboro area has a new meeting of AA at Rainsboro
United Methodist Church, Saturdays from 10-11 a.m. In addition, there will
be Al-Anon support meetings Saturdays at the church.
House of Prayer
board meetings
The Highland County House of Prayer, Inc. will hold monthly board
meetings on the last Wednesday of each month. The meetings will take place
at the home of Marvin and Becky Gotherman, 100 West Union Pike, Hillsboro at

Flea markets at
Sardinia Veterans Park
A monthly flea market will be held at the Sardinia Veterans Park on the
first Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., beginning May 5 through
Sept. 1. Food will be served at these events. Anyone with crafts or other
items to sell is welcome. There will not be a set rental fee; it will be by
donation only. All donations will be used to upgrade and maintain the
Veterans Park. Anyone interested in a space or information can call (937)

Deadline approaches for
quilt and craft applications
The 2012 Chatfield College Quilt and Craft Show will be held from 10
a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 28 at the St. Martin campus in St. Martin.
The quilt exhibit will include traditional quilts of any theme as well
as contemporary pieces. The show will also feature a quilt contest of
seasonal-themed quilts. Applications are available now to exhibit quilts,
demonstrate or sell crafts and to enter the quilt contest.

CAMP signups open
for 57th annual session
Young people grades 6 through June 2012 grads may now register for the
award-winning motivational camp, C.A.M.P., which will happen Aug. 5-11 at
the Resident Camp at Tar Hollow State Park. All-inclusive cost for C.A.M.P.
is $215 before discounts. For more information, contact the camp

UCANspay/neuter program
UCAN Highland County Transport’s low-cost spay/neuter program will hold
drop-offs and pick-ups for pets on the fourth Wednesday and Thursday of the
month at Peace Lutheran Church, 231 Harry Sauner Road.
Pets are to be dropped off at the church between 7-7:15 a.m. on
Wednesdays and may be picked up between 11:30 a.m. - noon Thursdays. All
pets must be in pet carriers.
Forms for the UCAN program may be picked up at any Highland County

The Highland County Republican Central Committee will meet the fourth
Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Highland County Administration
Building’s lower conference rooms.

Engineer’s Office
summer hours
The following are the 2012 summer hours for the Highland County
Engineer’s Office and County Highway Department. Effective through Oct. 4,
2012, the Highland County Engineer’s Office and County Highway Department
will be working four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5:30
p.m. After-hour emergencies will continue to be handled by calling the
Highland County Sheriff at 393-1421.
Open Door free meal
The Open Door free meal will be held at the Greenfield Methodist Church
on Saturday, April 28. Serving will be from 4-5:30 p.m. The menu will be
baked ham, hash brown potato casserole, green beans, and fruit salad.
Everyone is welcome.
Central Ohio Classic Country Opry
announces upcoming shows
The Central Ohio Classic Country Opry will be returning to the Clay
Township Park (the old Buford School) the first and third Saturday of each
month!
Shows include:
• May 5 – Heather Roush and Scott Stamper are the headliners.
• May 19 – Terri Barnett and Rich Martin.
Admission is $8, and children under 12 are admitted free.
Concessions are open throughout the evening and the doors open at 6
p.m., the show is from 7-9:30 p.m.
Fairfax United Methodist Church dinner
Fairfax United Methodist Church will host a fried chicken dinner on
April 28 at 5 p.m. Music will follow at 7 p.m. There is no charge and is
everyone welcome.
May Friendship Day
May Friendship Day will be held on Friday, May 4 at 6 p.m. There will be a
salad carry-in meal and we will meet in Riber Hall at Hillsboro First United
Methodist Church. This is a Church Women United celebration and the theme is
"Listening to my Sisters" with a program and Bible study after the meal.
Fellowship of the Least Coin (FLC) will be collected. For information, call

Sinking Spring United
Methodist Church fish fry
The 14th annual fish fry of the Sinking Spring United Methodist Church
will be Saturday, April 28 at the church. The fish fry will begin at 4:30
p.m. and continue until 7:30 p.m. or sold out. The event is being sponsored
by the Men's Fellowship Group of the church. Free will donation accepted.
First Presbyterian Church of
Greenfield to serve lunch April 29
The First Presbyterian Church of Greenfield will be serving lunch on
April 29 from noon-2 p.m. The menu will include a variety of grilled
sandwiches, rosemary potatoes, tossed salad, fruit salad, melt-in-your-mouth
desserts, and drinks. The cost of the meal is a free-will donation. The
proceeds benefit the church/manse renovation fund. Carry-out is also
available.
