Noreen's School of Dance
hosts Santa's open house
Noreen's School of Dance will host Santa's open house from 11 a.m.-4
p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4 at 748 N. High St., Hillsboro. Photos with Santa
are $5. There will be cookies with Mrs. Claus, dancing with Frosty,
and crafts with Santa's elves.
Board of Elections
closes for holidays
The Board of Elections office will be closed Dec. 23-24 for Christmas
and Dec. 30-31 for New Year’s.
Knights of Pythias
Christmas party Dec. 18
The Knights of Pythias Lodge 696 will hold a Christmas party on
Saturday, Dec. 18, beginning at 5:45, with a dinner at 6:15 p.m. (bring a
covered dish). Santa will arrive at 7:30 p.m. There will be drawings, door
prizes, 50/50 drawings, games, fun, food, and prizes. Gifts are donated by
local merchants, friends, and families. The lodge
is located at the old K&P building in Belfast at 2158 St. Rt. 73. If you

Christmas in
Marshall Dec. 4
The Marshall School Committee invites everyone to the Christmas in
Marshall (formerly Christmas at the Lake), Dec. 4, 4-8 p.m. at the Marshall
School Gymnasium in Marshall. Enjoy turkey and dressing, homemade noodles,
mashed potatoes and all the trimmings. A free-will donation will be
accepted. Come hear the sounds of the season by Beverly Grover, have your
picture taken with Santa, or participate in the benefit auction beginning at
7 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the preservation of the Marshall School

candy store open
The Greenfield Lions Club candy store will be open as follows: every
Saturday after Thanksgiving, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.; every Sunday after

Breakfast with Santa
Dec. 4 in Lynchburg
An all-you-can-eat breakfast with Santa will be held at the Lynchburg
Fire Station Dec. 4, 9 a.m. - noon. The cost is $5 for children 2-13 and
$7.50 for adults. Children under 2 get in free.

On Dec. 6, the Highland County TEA Party will present Steve Curtis,
state director for Americans for Fair Taxation, at Hi-TEC, 1575 N. High St.
The program starts at 7 p.m. All are welcome.
Highland House Museum
hosts children’s tea
The Highland House Museum is now accepting reservations for the
Children’s Tea, which is scheduled for Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. Reservations are $6
per person and are required as seating is limited. The Boy Scouts will be
serving this elegant tea, and entertainment appropriate for children will be
provided.

SATH hosts annual
Breakfast with Santa
The SATH (Supplementary Assistance to the Handicapped) organization will
be sponsoring its 15th annual “Breakfast with Santa” on Saturday, Dec. 11 at
the old Hillsboro High School cafeteria.
Breakfast will be served from 9-11 a.m. The cost is $7 per child and $5
per adult. Each child will receive a picture taken with Santa, make a
Christmas decoration with the help of Santa’s elves, and decorate cookies
with Mrs. Claus to take home with them. To make a reservation, contact Linda

at the Cabin
Although Christmas at the Cabin features the creations of folks from
across the United States, this year, Janny Brizius, owner of the unique
holiday shop, has accepted more local artisans than ever before. Christmas
at the Cabin, celebrating 30 years, is located at 7757 Cave Road, off U.S.

Southern State Singers plan Dec. 5 concert
The Southern State Singers will present their 12th annual Christmas
Concert 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 234 N. High

Christmas Shop open
The Highland House Museum Christmas Shop will be open every weekend in
December until Christmas. Hours are: Friday 1-5 p.m., Saturday 1-4 p.m. and

HHS choir to present Messiah
The Hillsboro High School Symphonic Choir will once again collaborate
with the Highland County Community Chorus to present Part I of George
Frideric Handel’s oratorio Messiah on Dec. 19. The community is invited to
participate in the chorus for this holiday presentation. Rehearsals will be
held each Monday evening with a special dress rehearsal on Saturday morning,
Dec. 18.

Parade Dec. 4
The 29th annual Greenfield Eagles Christmas Parade will be 2 p.m.

Santa Claus visits Leesburg
Santa Claus is coming to town Saturday, Dec. 11 at the Leesburg American
Legion Post 568. He will be bringing sacks of candy with him for area

The Highland County Democratic Women and the Highland County Central and
Executive Committee will hold their annual carry-in Christmas dinner and
auction on Tuesday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the County Administration
Building. Meat, drinks, and table service will be provided. A Christmas
auction will follow with Frank Grover as auctioneer. The public is cordially
invited to this lively evening of fun and food. Each attendee is urged to
bring a canned good to be donated to Samaritan Outreach.

Hillsboro AMVETS Post 61, With Our Love (www.withourlove.com) is their way
of showing appreciation for those in the military serving overseas and their
families during the holiday season. Family portraits will be taken for free

VFW Post 9094 will host a fish fry Saturday, Dec. 4 from 4:30-7 p.m. It
