Wilmington, Ohio—Family medicine resident physicians from the CMH Family Medicine Residency Program are organizing a community health fair for residents of southwestern Ohio from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at the Foster J. Boyd, MD, Regional Cancer Center.
“This is our annual community project to educate the community about resources available for their use and to inform those attending about resources available in our community,” says Dr. Bina Rashid, a third-year resident in the program, which is affiliated with the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
No appointments are necessary except for those wishing to participate in the skin cancer screenings. Beginning Monday, April 26, those wanting a skin cancer screening need to call 937-382-9606 for an appointment. Hours for the appointment telephone line will be 1 to 4 p.m. weekdays (Monday through Friday) through Friday, May 7.
Those interested in participating in the health fair may contact the residency program, 825 W. Locust St., Wilmington at 937-383-3382.
Among some of the tentative plans:
Skin cancer screenings.
Family planning.
Smoking cessation education.
Blood pressure checks.
Obesity prevention.
Bicycle helmet fittings.
Hand hygiene and infection control.
The CMH Family Medicine Residency Program combines the resources of a major teaching facility with the appealing environment of a community hospital. The program, which is affiliated with the University of Cincinnati, is committed to training superior residents who want to make a difference.[[In-content Ad]]
