CHECK IT OUT: Leesburg Branch Library kicks off summer reading program

The Leesburg Library's summer reading program, "Dream Big – Read!" is under way. We have many activities and programs planned for patrons of all ages, and we hope you will be able to join us for some or all of them. Please stop in to sign up and start reading and winning prizes!

There will be no story times during June, July and August. Our special programs for kids will be on Thursdays. This month's programs include:

June 14: Creatures of the Night at 10:30 a.m. Learn about owls, bats, coyotes and other nocturnal animals.

June 21: Dream Big with Illusionist/Magician John Lewis at 10:30 a.m.

June 28: PJ party at 10:30 a.m. Wear your jammies and join us for a movie and popcorn.

June 28: Ohio Native Reptile and Amphibian Exhibit at 5:30 p.m. Come and
browse the exhibits of snakes, turtles and other reptiles and amphibians.

Other activities this month include our Knit Together group, which meets on Thursday evenings at 5:30 p.m. New members are always welcome so feel free to join the group.

A representative from Secretary of State Jon Husted's office will join us on Tuesday, June 12 from 10-noon. This is a public outreach service, so feel free to stop by and meet with him if you have any questions, comments or concerns.

Dawna Jo Kiesling from the Highland County Extension Office will share nutrition tips and healthy recipes for summer cooking on Thursday, June 14 from 10-noon. RRRR also meets on that day at 1:30 p.m. to discuss the book, "Sarah's Key."

The Highland County Libraries will be migrating to a new library software system during the month of June along with the other members of the SEO Consortium.  As a result, we will be unable to issue new or replacement cards and the online catalog will not be available to patrons and/or staff from May 31 to June 7. You must also bring your library card with you if you are checking items out from May 29 through June 7. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we believe you will like the new system once it is up and running.
