Free meal Sept. 26 at Greenfield church
The monthly free meal at the Greenfield Methodist Church will be held on
Saturday, Sept. 26 from 4-5:30 p.m. The menu will be chicken casserole,
green beans, bread, and fruit crisp.

The Tower of Strength Church on Line Road in New Vienna is announcing a

There will be a Highland County Street Dance on Oct. 2, from 7–10 p.m. in
Lynchburg on Main and Broadway streets.
The event is sponsored by Highland County Prosecutor James Grandey and DJ
Ron Smith.

On Saturday, Oct. 31 at 7:30 p.m., there will be a benefit concert at
Greater Life Assembly (12145 North Shore Dr.). The concert is free. Freewill
offering for new youth building.

The Greenfield Area Medical Center Volunteer’s Rummage Sale will be held in
Greenfield across from R.R. Donnelley Publishing Oct. 5-9, Monday -Friday,

Poultry Association craft show Oct. 3
The Highland County Poultry Association fall craft show will be Oct. 3 at
the Highland County Fairgrounds. All vendors and crafters are welcome. Booth
rentals are $25 for a 10x12 booth, and booths must be paid for in advance.
All rentals will benefit the Poultry Association. For information, call

Countywide curfew in effect Oct. 1-31
Countywide curfew will commence Thursday, Oct. 1 for all persons under the
age of 18. The curfew will run through Oct. 31 and require all persons under
the age of 18 to be off the streets and in their homes by 10 p.m., Monday
through Thursday, and by midnight Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The curfew
does not apply where children are accompanied by parents, legal guardians,
or custodians. An exception is also made for children attending church,
school, or employment activities.
Enforcement will be handled by all law enforcement agencies, including the
sheriff’s department, city or village police, and juvenile probation
officers. Beggars’ Night will be Thursday, Oct. 29 from 6–8 p.m.

There will be a chili supper in the Leesburg Fire/EMS Station
Community Room Saturday, Oct. 10, from 5-8 p.m. Freewill donation accepted.

Coonhunters sponsor youth hunt Sept. 26
The Highland County Coonhunters are sponsoring their annual youth coon hunt
on Sept. 26 for youths from 5 to 15. Kids will be divided into age classes
and hunts structured to accommodate each class. At least one adult must
attend with each hunter. There is no charge and the evening will start with
a free meal at 7 p.m. The clubhouse is located three miles east of Hillsboro

The Southern Ohio Procurement Outreach Center presents 2009 PTAC Fair.
Meet one-on-one with a small business counselor to get answers to those
questions and discuss various aspects of the government contracting process.

well as all small businesses considering federal, state, and local

Voter registration deadline
The Highland County Board of Elections reminds the citizens of Highland
County that the deadline for registering to vote in the General Election to
be held Tuesday, Nov. 3, will be Monday, Oct. 5. This deadline is for those
who are not presently registered. To better serve those who may need to
register, the Board of Elections office will be open to Oct. 5 from 8:30
a.m. until 9 p.m. The Board office is located at 1575 N. High St., Suite
200, in Hillsboro.
You may also register at any Highland County Public Library, Hillsboro
BMV, and the Highland County Treasurer's Office.

ballot that a request for such a ballot must be filed with our office
for each separate election. Absentee ballots will be mailed for the
November General Election beginning on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 for

to get their applications in early.
A voter may also cast an early absentee ballot in person by coming to
the Board of Elections office and voting at that site. Early voting
will begin on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 and will be conducted

Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, October 31, from 9 a.m. until
