The Collins Family Thanksgiving Dinner will be held Thursday, Nov. 24 from 11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Highland County Senior Citizens Center on Muntz Street in Hillsboro. This is the annual dinner's 13th year.

"The main reason for us to get together at least once a year is for a great day of good food and good fellowship," Bill Collins said.

Everyone in the community is welcome to come for the free dinner or carry-out. Special singing from the Gobles will be featured from noon - 2 p.m. Turkey will all the trimmings, plus homemade pies made by June Collins Thompson, will be served.

The Collins family ranges from 18-88 years old, and everyone participates in this tradition.

"Everyone works the dinner and loves every minute of it," Collins said. "It is our way of sharing back with our love for God and the community."
