Altrusa holds October meeting

Altrusa of Highland County met Tuesday, Oct. 18 with the District 5 First Vice-Governor in attendance. There were 23 present. A delicious dinner was served by Mike from All Seasons Catering.
All members wore pink in support of the fight against breast cancer. Roll call was answered with each telling their favorite pink. Many interesting things from flowers, food, lipstick and much more were the responses. Barb won the prize for the most pink.
The literacy committee reported Altrusa delivered 620 kindergarten books to all Highland County schools in September and is ordering 650 sixth grade books.
The service committee reported on meeting with the commissioners for a proclamation of Make a Difference Day and their plan for giving books to kids on the court house lawns in Hillsboro and Greenfield on Saturday, Oct. 22.
The Vice-Governor reported on the new logo branding in progress with Altrusa. She also encouraged all members to attend district and national meetings.
The meeting was adjourned with a group picture of the Altrusa women in pink.[[In-content Ad]]
