October’s Make a Difference Day came early this year for the Altrusa of Highland County club.

Club members brought donations to the September meeting for Samaritan Outreach. This year, club members donated 361 food items including cans and packs of soup, cans of beans and tuna, peanut butter, packs of nuts and 8 can openers.

Along with this donation the club will be including a cash donation to Samaritan Outreach for them to purchase necessary food items for their food pantry. This is the third year the club made donations to Samaritan Outreach.

The past two years the club has donated and purchased a total of 695 food items, including cans of soup, packages of ramen noodles, and other canned items. This ongoing project is very much needed in our community and club members look forward to donating to such a worthy cause.
