Willard Earl Davis, 89, of Hillsboro, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Laurels of Hillsboro.
He was born Oct. 27, 1920 in Winchester, the son of the late Clarence and Lucille (Roberts) Davis.
Mr. Davis had retired from the Irwin Company in Wilmington after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Cynthiana Church of Christ in Christian Union, where he had served as treasurer and elder for 41 years.
He is survived by three children, Phil Davis and his wife Diane of Hillsboro, Steve Davis and his wife Janet of Wilmington, and Karen Fraley and her husband Tim Fraley of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren, Aaron Davis, Matthew Davis, Adam (Nicole) Davis, Lauren Davis, Andrew Davis, Derek Fraley and Callie Fraley; and two great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Mary (Waulk) Davis, on Nov. 1, 1994, and a brother, Donald Davis.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2010 at the Cynthiana Church of Christ in Christian Union. Pastor Edgar Walls will officiate. Burial will follow in the Sugar Tree Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, May 6, 2010 from 4-7 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
