Wayne S. Hibbs, 78, of Midland, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010 at the Laurels of Blanchester Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born March 5, 1932 in Martinsville, Ohio, the son of the late Coleman and Ruth Brown Hibbs.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. Wayne had worked at Mosaco for more than 48 years.
He is survived by four children, Wayne Allen (Mattie) Hibbs of Midland, Tommy Hibbs of Midland, Barbara Hibbs of Washington C.H., and Joyce Ann Hibbs of Washington C.H.; seven siblings, Helen (Pat) Bradford of Milford, Faye Powers of Independence, Ky., Janie (Sam) McKee of LaGrange, Ind., Lucille Breusaugh of Blooming Springs, Tenn., Billy (Leila) Hibbs) of Beavercreek, Daryl (Sharon) Hibbs of Buford, and Janet (Tommy) Simons of Amelia; 10 grandchildren, Mandi Byrom, Candi Helton, Laura (Chris) Mullins) Wayne T. Hibbs, Kathy (Travis) Minton, Bobbi (Tony) Barber, Jami Hibbs, Jessie Crampton, Angel (Shawn) Kellough, and Shannon Gregory; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doloris L. Hibbs, who died Nov. 22, 2005; daughter Wanda Kay Gregory; sons Arnold Lee Hibbs and Charles E. Hibbs; and brothers Robert and Dale Hibbs.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 2010 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Rick Godlove will officiate. Burial will follow in the Martinsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery, where the Clinton County Honor Guard will accord military honors. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
