Virginia Dare Case, 97, of Greenfield, died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Adena Greenfield Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 15, 1913 in Greenfield, the daughter of the late Floyd and Mary Ellen (Worrell) Dowler.

She was retired from the U.S. Shoe Corp. of Greenfield and was a member of the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary.

On Oct. 2, 1938, she married Kenneth Case, who preceded her in death Nov. 6, 2007.

She is survived by her son, Larry Case of Greenfield; nine grandchildren, including Kenneth (Crystal) Case, Regina (Elson) Salter, Patricia (Andy) Gardner, Rachael Hall, Joebeth Case and Christina Dotson; 15 great-grandchildren, including Ava Dare Browder; four great-great-grandchildren; and a half-sister, Ottye Vatchiano of Kettering.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Anderson-Strueve Funeral Home of Greenfield with the Rev. Drew Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.[[In-content Ad]]
