Velma Walker Behm, 93, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at Heartland of Hillsboro.

She was born on April 16, 1919, the daughter of the late Harry and Jennie Mae (Godman) Bloom.

Besides her parents, she was preceded by her first husband, Charles Walker who died Oct. 12, 1986; her second husband, Lewis Behm, who died May 4, 2008; one son, Bobby Walker; and her brother, Wendell Bloom.

She was a member of Sugar Tree Ridge Church of Christ and a member of the Highland County Senior Citizens.

She is survived by two sons, Charles (Carolyn) Walker of Hillsboro, and David (Margie) Walker of Wilmington; one daughter, Peggy (Mike) Rector of Hillsboro; one sister, Genera Wagner of Hillsboro; two special friends, Ron Hall and Mark Boltinghouse; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22 at Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will be at Sugar Tree Ridge Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21 at the funeral home.
