Stanley A. Pfister
Stanley A. Pfister, 92, of Lynchburg died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 at his daughter's home.
He was born May 3, 1920 in Lynchburg, the son of the late Earl W. and Mary Shaeffer Pfister.
Mr. Pfister had retired from the Cincinnati Milacron where he worked as a mechanical engineer for 34 years. He was a member of the Lynchburg Lions Club and Masonic Lodge. He also had been a past president of the Mental Health Association and an Air Force veteran of World War II.
He is survived by four children, Dianne (Donald) Dayton of Wilmington, Jane (Ron Barrett) Gallagher of Wilmington, Steven (Susan) Pfister of Troy and Craig Pfister of Wilmington; five grandchildren, Heather (Jessie) Harmon of Athens, Mallory (Josh) Pennington of Frankfort, Ky., Justin (Stacey) Dayton of Port William, Jenny Moreaux of Piqua and Eric (Jalena) Pfister of Clayton; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Joanne Pfister, on April 4, 2006; one daughter, Nancy Lytle; one sister, Elma Haefner; and two brothers, Leonard Pfister and Earl Pfister.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at the Troutwine Cemetery. Rick Godlove will officiate.
