Shirley Martha Granger, 72, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Highland District Hospital.

She was born in Highland County on Feb. 28, 1939, the daughter of the late Woodrow W. and Beatrice Helen (Roosa) Williams.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Delma Gilbert.

She was very active in all Youth Organizations in Highland County, especially Girl Scouts and 4-H. She was the owner and operator of H&R Block in Hillsboro.

She is survived by her husband, James L. Granger, whom she married on Sept. 7, 1957; one daughter and son in law, Zana and Andy Adams of Lewis Center; and one granddaughter, Jaclyn Nicole Adams.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 7 at the Hightop Cemetery.

Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 4-8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to any youth organizations in Highland County.
