Sheryl Ann “Sherry” Hudson, 77, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2024 at home.
 
She was born Dec. 10, 1946 in Greenfield, the daughter of William Emerson and Mildred Irene (Losey) Truitt.
 
She was a 1965 graduate of Buckskin High School, where she was the very last student to receive her diploma prior to Buckskin High School merging with E.L. McClain High School. She was a member of Buckskin Community Church and was a former member of Greenfield Area Life Squad.
 
She recently retired from Community Market of Greenfield, was a former employee of ABX/DHL of Wilmington until its closing, and had retired from Waddell Manufacturing of Greenfield after many years of employment.
 
She is survived by her husband, Alan Hudson, whom she married March 15, 1997; one son, Floyd (Lissa) Simmons Jr., of Lyndon; two daughters, Michelle “Micki” (Dwayne) Smith of Washington C.H. and Sandra (Aaron) Hunt Bourne of Hillsboro; one stepdaughter, Christy Turner of Greenfield; 17 grandchildren, Erin, Levi, Scott, Ashley, Ashton, Kylie, Tristan, Madison, Preston, Bailey, Zeb, Briar, Zair, Zayla, Bridger, Zec and Bear; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Della Bates of Greenfield and Rebecca (Jeff) Dyer of North Carolina; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her and Alan’s special loves, Sam Bo Hudson and Willow Hudson.
 
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Rocky D. Rutherford; mother-in-law, Joann Chamblin; one nephew, Richard S. Bates; one step son-in-law, Scotty Turner; and both parents.
 
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Mark Current officiating. Burial will follow in the South Salem Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
