Russell Olen Moore, 96, of Hillsboro, died Monday, March 14, 2011 at The Laurels in Hillsboro.
He was born Sept. 26, 1914 in Measley Ridge, Adams County, the son of the late Robert Crayton and Melvina Hohn Moore.
He is survived by three sons, James Roger (Judith Ann) Moore of Leesburg, Richard Olen Moore of Dallas, Texas and Thomas Robert (Julia Ann) Moore of North Ft. Myers, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Belle Blair Moore on March 18, 2008; one son, Allen E. Moore; five sisters, Opal Thorman, Clarice Turner, Cecil Tolle, Dorothy Wilson, and Emma Crothers; one brother, Hartzel Moore; one step-brother, Arlie Moore and step-mother, Lilly Crothers Moore.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Turner and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Randolph officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 11 a.m until 1 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
