Robert M. Bennett, 85, of Washington Court House, formerly of Hillsboro, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012 at the Fayette Memorial Hospital in Washington Court House.

He was born Nov. 30, 1926 in Cincinnati, the son of the late Alva and Daisy Kier Bennett.

He was a member of the Marshall Church of Christ.

He is survived by one daughter, Jeanette (Casey) Jones of Franklin, Ga.; five sons, James (Judy) Bennett of Muscatine, Alabama, John Bennett of Hillsboro, Jack Bennett and Jerry Bennett both of Newport, Kentucky, and Robert Bennett of Washington C.H.; a sister, Betty Collins of New Vienna; grandchildren, Chris Jones, Samantha Jones, Bruce (Ashley) Bennett, Michelle (Chance) Stroud, Robbie (Mollie) Bennett, and Ryan Bennett; two step grandchildren; great grandchildren, McCaylee, Casey, Lillie, Millie, Cody, Riley, Joey, and Marley; sisters-in-law Shirley Wilt of Madeira and Beatrice Stanforth of Hillsboro; and niece Colleen (Randy) Anschutz of New Vienna.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary K. Bennett, on Feb. 23, 2012; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, Elijah Stroud.

Graveside funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20 at the Mowrystown Cemetery. Tom Stoops of the Marshall Church of Christ will officiate. Visitation will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

The Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro, is serving the family.
