Robert Davis, 89, of Leesburg, passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2012 at his home.

He was born June 10, 1923 in Flint, Mich., the son of John and Bessie (Hanes) Davis.

He was formerly an owner/operator of Davis Grocery of Highland until 1990 and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, Corp of Engineers during World War II in the Pacific Theatre.

He is survived by his wife, Minnie (Everhart) Davis, to whom he was married for 64 years; one son, John (Vitaya) Davis of Ocean Springs, Miss.; three daughters, Cindy (Fred) Cox of Leesburg, Roseanna (Brent) McNeal of Leesburg and Roseenna (John) Vance of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Kathryn (Kevin Malagarie) Davis, Fred (Amy) Cox, Gregory (Christy) Cox, Christopher (Susan) Hurless, Julie (Josh) Weddel and Hillary (Nathan) Hunter; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Davis; two sisters, Reetha Aldred and Geneva Condon; and both parents.

Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Greenfield Cemetery with military rites to be provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Care Hospice, P.O. Box 123, Wilmington, Ohio 45177.
