Robert Cox passed away on Jan. 6, 2013 surrounded by his family.
Robert was born on Aug. 24, 1925 in Hamilton, Ohio to Raymond and Letha (Coates) Cox.
Robert served his country in the US Army during WWII (Asian Theater). Later, Robert worked as a Carnation milk truck driver and a farmer. Bob worked at General Motors in Moraine City for 27 and a half years. His proudest accomplishment was his family.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Arlene (Yarger) Cox, whom he married on March 9, 1951; two sisters, Helen (Harold) Oglesby of Hillsboro and Marinona (Bruce) Peters of Hillsboro; two sons, Stephen Cox of Hillsboro and Jeffry (Teresa) Cox of Hillsboro; two daughters, Kellie (Jeff) Yochum of Hillsboro and Melissa (Anton) DeFrancesco of Florida; seven grandchildren, Steven Christ, Joshua Cox, Corey (Amy) Cox, Hannah Yochum, Jalyn Yochum and Marina and Ava DeFrancesco; and one great-grandchild, Cameron Cox.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Cox, Jr. (Rayno); and one infant sister, Ruth.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Dr. Dan Lamb officiating. Burial will follow with military graveside rites by the Highland County Honor Guard in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 11 a.m. till time of service at 1 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
