 Robert 'Bob' Brown Jr.

With heavy hearts yet joyful spirits, we celebrate the life of Robert "Bob" Brown Jr., who left us on July 7, 2026, at the age of 64. 

Born on Aug. 19, 1961, in West Union, Bob's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter and a deep appreciation for history. He was a cherished resident of Hillsboro, where he made countless memories and connections that will endure. 

Bob graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1979, proudly continuing his education at Southern State Community College. In 1983, he earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati, an achievement that spoke to his dedication and commitment to learning.

Throughout his life, Bob was passionate about his community and was an active member of the Highland County Historical Society, where he shared his love for history with others and helped preserve the stories that shaped our shared heritage. His enthusiasm for the past inspired many, and his impact will not be forgotten. Throughout his lifetime, Bob was involved in 54 plays, including at Shadowbox Theatre, Gaslight Theatre, UC, Charade, Southern State Community College and ACT.

Bob is survived by his dear brother, Greg Brown; aunts, Alice Runyon and Beverly Nesbit; uncle, Kenneth Nesbit; several cousins; and a host of friends whose lives were enriched by his warmth and kindness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Virginia (Nesbit) Brown, Sr.

A celebration of life will be at the Southern State Community College Auditorium at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 25.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. until time of services on Saturday at the college.

Burial will take place at the New Market Baptist Cemetery at a later date.
