Richard Herman Seitz, Jr., 88, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012 at Highland District Hospital.

He retired from the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of F.O.E. Aerie #1161 Hillsboro, F.O.E. Aerie 2193 Mt. Healthy, AMVETS Post 61 Hillsboro.

He is survived by one step-son Michael Mathews; two step-sisters; Dixie Manning and Shirley Vicars; one brother, George Seitz of Corpus Christi, Texas; and one sister, Ann R. Coston of St. Simons Island, Ga.

According to his request, he was cremated. No visitation or services are scheduled.

Thompson Funeral Home and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to donor's favorite charity.
