Richard A. Dent, 71, of Hillsboro, died Sunday afternoon, April 10, 2011 at the Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery.

He was born Nov. 15, 1939 in Hillsboro, the son of the late Bradley and Seleicka Turner Dent.

Mr. Dent had worked for the Moore Drop Forge Company and the Williamson Company and had retired from Seal-Tite. He was a 1959 graduate of Hillsboro High School.

He is survived by a daughter, Mary (Richard) Scott of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Ringo, Seleicka Captain and Britney Captain, all of Wilmington; two great-grandchildren, De'shaun Captain and Destiny Jones; two sisters, Sylvia (Samuel) Coatney of Dayton and Glenna Hennison of Hillsboro; and two brothers, Dale (Vicki) Dent and William (Nedeane) Dent of Washington Court House.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight siblings, Victor E. Dent, Glenn Dent, Lynn Dent, Bradley Dent. Jr., Stacey Lynn Dent, Marie Henderson, Lillian White and Izetta Thomas.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 14 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
