Patricia L. “Patsy” (Ely) Althouse, 74, of Greenfield, died April 30, 2011 at Mt. Carmel West in Columbus.
She was born Nov. 23, 1936 in Highland County, the daughter of Charles Robert Ely and Hazel Marie (Shaw) Ely.
She was a legal secretary at Duncan and Phillips Law Firm for 30 years and was a 1954 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School. She was a life member of the Greenfield Historical Society and past president of the former Greenfield Business and Professional Women’s Club. She also attended the Waterloo Church of Christ in Christian Union.
Mrs. Althouse is survived by two sisters, Phyllis Jean Ely of Greenfield and Betty (Bill) Jenkins of Gallatin, Tenn.; one brother, James Robert (Linda) Ely of Mill Hall, Pa.; three nieces, Lisa Gaye (Richard) Hipke of Wilmington, Donna Kaye Ely of Plymouth, Minn., and Lana Kay Milan of Gallatin, Tenn.; one nephew, Gary Scott (Tammy) Jenkins of Pleasant View, Tenn.; three great-nieces, Jade A. Hipke of Wilmington, Stephanie Brockman of Kettering, and Casey Marie Milan of Gallatin, Tenn.; three great-nephews, Jaysen Oeder of Fairfield, Ryan Brockman of New Vienna, and Jackson Robert Ely, Plymouth, Minn.; and one uncle, William D. (Rose) Ely of Tampa, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Atlhouse, whom died Oct. 20, 2007; one sister, Doris Marie Ely; one niece, Carla Ely Brockman; and both parents.
A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 4 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Joy Stanforth officiating, and burial to be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Fayette County, P.O. Box 849, Washington C.H., Ohio 43160.
