Patricia Josephine Ridenour, 80, of Greenfield, died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at her home.

She was born Sept. 13, 1930 in East Fultonham to Robert J. and Josephine Catherine (Stockman) Hearing.

She had a strong love of genealogy, of which her extensive documentation was proof; was an avid gardener, painter and sketcher; and loved to travel. She was a reading teacher at the Greenfield Exempted Village Schools and retired in 1986. She was a graduate of Ohio University.

Mrs. Ridenour is survived by one son, Charles C. Ridenour of Greenfield; two granddaughters, Cammy C. and Courtney C. Ridenour of Greenfield; three sisters, Eleanor Knight of Pomeroy, Emma Jean Hatch of Sun City, Ariz. and Barbara Walder of Springfield; one brother, Philip "Rich" Hearing of Zanesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Ridenour, on May 5, 1991; and one sister in childhood, Harriet Virginia Hearing.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 27 at the Glenford "Highland" Cemetery in Perry County.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, May 26 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield.
