Ollie Straight Jr., 86, of Martinsville died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012 at The Laurels of Blanchester.

He was born July 14, 1926 in Wilmington, the son of the late Ollie and Dollie Campbell Straight Sr.

Mr. Straight had been an iron worker for 29 years and was a member of the Iron Workers Local #172 in Columbus. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He is survived by two sons, Donald Ray (Gwen) Straight of Blanchester and Norman (Pam) Straight of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren; several great- and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas E. Straight of Wilmington and Gary Richard Straight of Wilmington.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Irene Straight on Dec. 2, 2011; one grandson, Brian Straight; three brothers, Joseph, Clel and John Straight; and two sisters, Juanita Howell and Emma Quigley.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. The Rev. Robert Miller will officiate. Burial with military honors presented by the Highland County Honor Guard will follow in the Martinsville IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg.
