Mildred M. Gossard, 90, of Leesburg died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012 at The Laurels of Hillsboro.

She was born March 1, 1922 in Peebles, the daughter of the late Roy and Rose Secrist Powell.

Mrs. Gossard had worked for 30 years for the RobertShaw Company in Hillsboro and was a member of the Leesburg Church of Christ.

On Jan. 24, 1944 in Austin, Texas, she was united in marriage to Clair Gossard, who preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 2001.

She is survived by two sisters, Edith Weissling of Battle Creek, Mich. and Hazel Allen of Lynchburg; 12 nieces and nephews, Janice (Jack) Boorman of Dayton, Lois Reynolds of Clarksville, Richard (Joyce) Powell of Washington Court House, Charlotte (Bill) Bowman of Greenfield, Jane (David) Knisley of Columbus, Tim (Barbara) Weissling of Colorado, Larry (Kim) Weissling of Cleveland, David (Christy) Weissling of Battle Creek, Mich., Steven (Linda) Allen of Lynchburg, Susan (Larry) Burns of New Market, Sandra (Joe) Arrasmith of Sabina and Jeannie Wisecup of Leesburg; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Helen Wisecup and Irene Powell; two brothers, Wilbur L. and Floyd Powell; and two nephews, Bill Wisecup and Danny Weissling.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13 at the Leesburg Church of Christ, 236 South Fairfield Street, Leesburg. Kevin Stuckey will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Leesburg.
