Mary Rose Couch, 75, of the Tranquility area near Seaman, died Thursday, March 18, 2011 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born April 18, 1935 in Oneida, Ky., the daughter of the late Roscoe and Sarah Hensley Burns.
She was a member of the Tranquility Full Gospel Tabernacle. She enjoyed playing the piano at home and church, and she wrote and sang many original gospel songs.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Jesse Disher of Seaman; four grandchildren, Evelyn Rose (Charles) Jones, Jonie Marie (Bobby) Sannan, Jennifer Lynn (Scott) Hargett, and Jesse Eugene (Heather) Disher, all of Seaman; eight great-grandchildren, Charles Jacob Jones, Joshua Timothy Jones, Makayla Rose Marie Jones, Michael Hacker, Robert Sannan, Jesse Isiah Hargett, Faith Noel Hargett, and Lani Jean Disher; two sisters, Doris Jean Burns of Dayton, and Ozzie Bowling of Booneville, Ky.; one brother, Ambrose Burns of Harrodsburg, Ky.; and four step-grandchildren, Lorie, Faye, Madison, and Natalie.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Homer Couch on Feb. 27, 2008; and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Tranquility Full Gospel Tabernacle near Seaman. Gary Ferguson will officiate with the assistance of Daniel McCann. Burial will follow in the Sugar Tree Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 20, from 3-8 p.m. at the Tranquility Full Gospel Tabernacle.
