Mary O. Ackley, 89, of Frankfort, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at Heartland of Chillicothe.

She was born in Roxabel, Ohio on Oct. 1, 1923, the daughter of the late Fred and Edna M. Cox Hurless.

She graduated from Twin Township High School. Because she loved being around people, she worked at the American Legion in Circleville and the Greenfield Eagles.

Surviving are her children, Paul Ackley, Jr. of Chillicothe, Bill Ackley of Frankfort, Opal Pollock Lowery of Chillicothe and Judy Jones of Chillicothe; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Esther Keaton of Chillicothe; one brother, Ed Hurless of Crescent City, Fla.; and a special friend, Maddie Spangler of Frankfort.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Evelyn Butler and Betty Dunn; one son, Donald B. Ackley; sisters, Evea McGinn and Reedy Neal; and a brother, Fred Hurless.


Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23 at the Ebright Funeral Home in Frankfort with the Rev. Wayne Combs officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.
