Mary Louise Gall Hollinger Kring
Mary Louise Gall Hollinger Kring, 100, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, surrounded by family.
Mary was born Nov. 28, 1925 in the front room of the family’s farmhouse near May Hill, Ohio to the late John and Sidney Jane (Murphy) Gall.
She was pleased to tell everyone that she “was a farm girl.” After graduating from Seaman High School, Mary moved to Dayton, worked and married Lowell “Holly” Hollinger in 1947. They settled in Piketon where together they produced “Your Shopping Guide” for many years.

After moving back to Dayton and Lowell’s death in 1969, Mary remained close to the Hollinger family as they were an important part of her life. Mary met and eventually married Lester Kring in 1977. Mary and Lester enjoyed traveling with friends and family, hosting parties, and watching "Dallas" every Friday night until his death in 1995.
Mary took great pride in her many jobs throughout her life – at Otterbein Press, Top Value Stamps, and The Kettering Foundation, retiring in 2009. One of her favorite days was meeting her friends from the Kettering Foundation for lunch once a month. Mary loved visiting down home in Adams County, playing euchre and corn hole, and enjoying every moment she had with friends and family. Family and friends will remember her special sparkle that endeared everyone she met. Mary brought fun, mischief, and laughter to everyone whose life she touched.
Mary is survived by her children, Larry (Wanda) Hollinger, Debra Hollinger, and John Hollinger; daughter-in-law, Marta Hollinger; grandchildren, Gina (Joe) Fairchild, Maria (Stephen) Keyes, Natalie Hollinger, Roy (Cheryl) Martinez, and Susan (Paul) Brennan; great-grandchildren, Gabby, Nicole, Ariana, Madeline, Isabella, Jacob and Andrew; extended family and friends, John, Betsy, Katherine and Christopher Hursh; Stephen, Tink, Arthur, and Beth Siwecki, the Martinez family, as well as many other close friends that became family.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Dale Gall; sister, Margaret Wilma Gall; first husband, Lowell “Holly” Hollinger; second husband, Lester E. Kring; son, Lew Hollinger, and grandson, Christopher Dale Hollinger; as well as many close family friends.
The family would like to thank Ohio Hospice for their care of Mary.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 30 at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home, 5555 Philadelphia Dr., Dayton, Ohio 45415.
The family will receive friends and family from 3 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will occur at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 2 in the Tranquility Cemetery, 141 Old State Route 32, Peebles, Ohio 45660.
