Mary Ellen Brewer, 86, of Leesburg, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at her home.
She was born July 10, 1926 in Lucasville, the daughter of the late James and Jewel Lewis McBrayer.
She was a member of the Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union.
She is survived by one granddaughter, Dawn (Troy) Frazier of New Vienna; two grandsons, Bart (Stacia) Brewer of Greenfield and Shawn (Shelly) Brewer of Howard; four great-grandchildren, Todd Brewer, Cami Brewer, Garrett Brewer and Kori (Courtney) Brewer; one great-great-grandson, Mason Brewer; one nephew, Bill Brewer; daughter-in-law, Margaret Brewer; sister-in-law, Hallie McBrayer of California; and special friends, Rick (Cindy) Simmons, Sandy Coats, Linda Hilterbrand and all of the caregivers at Hospice of Fayette County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gene Brewer, on Sept. 23, 2001; two sons, Donald E. Brewer and Harold Gene Brewer, Jr.; one granddaughter, Tammy Crabtree; one great-grandson, Justin Brewer; and one brother, SSGT. George McBrayer.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24 at the Turner Funeral Home in Leesburg. Pastor Joe Current will officiate. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens in Hillsboro. Friends may call on Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Leesburg.
