Martha Pence, 88, of Winchester, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center.

She was born in Adams County on Feb. 14, 1923, the daughter of the late Roy and Olive (Cornelius) Wylie.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert Pence; one daughter; Gladys Pence; two brothers, Maurice and Marlin Wylie; and one sister, Mary Kennedy.

Martha attended Winchester United Methodist Church and attended the Wakefield Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Allen Pence of Winchester; one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Debbie Pence of Winchester; three daughters and sons-in-law, Glenna and Bob Reynolds of Venice, Fla., Gloria and Terry Gill of Parma and Gay Lynn and Robbie Shipley of Winchester; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at 3 p.m. at the Winchester United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Darby officiating. Burial followed in the Cherry Fork Cemetery.

A visitation was held Saturday from 5-8 p.m. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman.
