Marilyn Cline Wilkin, 77, of Wilmington, Ohio, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at her winter home in Odessa, Florida.
She was born December 3, 1931 in Wilmington, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles Wesley Cline and Helen Branham Cline Speaight.
Mrs. Wilkin had worked as an assistant to her husband at Gunlow Industries in Xenia, Ohio for thirty seven years. She was a 1949 graduate of Wilmington High School and attended Wilmington College. She attended services at the Chester Friends Meeting. Mrs. Wilkin enjoyed many years of traveling with her husband to trap shooting events throughout the United States. Throughout her travels she became friends with people in the United States and other countries, developing long lasting friendships. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Donavon Wilkin; one daughter, Roseanne E. McKay and her husband Steve of Wilmington; three sons, Michael J. Wilkin of Batavia, H. Dan Wilkin and his wife Gayle of Greenville, South Carolina, and Robert D. Wilkin and his fiancé Debbie Hathaway of Wilmington; 11 grandchildren, Tommy Wilkin, Sean Wilkin, Rebecca Wilkin, David Wilkin, Brandi (Shane) Ramsey, Amy (Jeff) Banks, Brian (Megan) Wilkin, Corey Wilkin, Amy (Brady) Richcreek, Melissa (Scott) Ellis and Wayne (Andrea) McKay; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Joyce Baker of Leesburg; and four brothers, Gerald Cline of Wilmington, James Cline of Wilmington, John Cline of New Vienna and Charles Cline of Oak Ridge, Tenn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Harold Speaight, and one brother, Gary Cline.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Pastor Mike McCormick will officiate. Burial will follow in the Barnes Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg.
