Lydia M. Phillips, 97, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the Crestwood Nursing Center.
She was born April 30, 1914, in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late Benjamin W. and Laura (West) Muntz.
She was a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ and the Highland County Senior Citizens.
She is survived by two sons, Dr. David Phillips and his wife, Alice, of Oxford, and Paul Phillips, Jr. and his wife, Gretchen, of Sturgeon Bay, Wisc.; a daughter, Mary Alice Born and her husband, Donald, of Waldoboro, Maine; two grandchildren, Tony Phillips of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Laura Phillips of Kenosha, Wisc.; four great-grandchildren, Kelsey Krebs of Sheboygan, Wisc., Sonia Phillips of Ann Arbor, Mich., Ryan Krebs of Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., and Victor Phillips of Ann Arbor, Mich.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul S. Phillips, on Oct. 7, 1989; three sisters, Mary Muntz, Rebecca Hatfield and Sarah May Meschke; and two brothers, Benjamin Muntz and Nelson Muntz.
Services will be 2 p.m Thursday, June 16 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family encourages memorial contributions to the charity of the donor’s choice.
