Luberta "Pete" Johnson, 88, of Greenfield, died Monday, March 21, 2011 at Hearth & Care of Greenfield.
She was born June 1, 1922 in Fayette County, the daughter of the late Roy and Cecil (Wilson) Roberts.
She was a homemaker, gardener, an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and a bird watcher. She was a 1940 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School.
She is survived by nieces and nephews Marlene Spangler of Greenfield, Marilyn Drake of Washington C.H., Marian (Allen) Byer of Hillsborough, Calif., Ray (Alice) Jinks of Washington C.H., and Luberta (Dick) Wolfe of Washington C.H.; great-nieces and great-nephews Debbie (Chuck) Burgess of Greenfield, Sandie Spangler of Safety Harbor, Fla., Beth (Jim) Pristas of Hillsboro, Eric (Melanie) Spangler of Greenfield, and D.J. Thorne of Pennsylvania; and great-great nieces and great-great-nephews, Heidi (Coy) Tite, Holli (Shaun) Ertel, Dereck Pristas, Kyle Pristas, Cameron Spangler, Carson Spangler, and Chloe Spangler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Johnson, on Jan. 20, 2010; one brother, Bud Roberts; three sisters, Bertha Fulton, Marge Swift, and Mildred Elliott; and one nephew-in-law, Jerry Spangler.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2011 at Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Father Mike Paraniuk officiating. Burial will follow in the Cochran Cemetery in New Martinsburg. A visitation will be held 9 a.m. until time of service Friday.
