Lowell Dean Dickey, 75, of Hillsboro (Fairfax community) died Friday, July 8, 2011 at his residence.
He was born January 3, 1936 in Highland County, the son of the late John and Golda (Turner) Dickey.
Lowell had served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for six years. He was a member of the Fairfax United Methodist Church, the State and National Holstein Associations, the Highland County Dairy Service Unit, Fairfax Cemetery Trustee, Treasurer of the Fairfax United Methodist Church Building Fund, and a lifelong dairy farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Janet (Brown) Dickey, whom he married on February 5, 1961; three sons, Jeff (Karen) Dickey, of Hillsboro, Kevin (Sandy) Dickey, of Hillsboro, and Gary Dickey of Hillsboro; a daughter, Colleen (John) Wiget of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Joshua and Jessica Wiget and Ethan Dickey; a brother, John "Jay" (Jane) Dickey Jr., of Fairfield; a sister, Joyce Morefield of Dayton; a sister-in-law, Juanita Dickey of Seaman; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Donna VanZant of Maineville.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Mark Dickey, Maynard Dickey and Hugh Dickey; and a sister, Mary Kathryn Cox.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the Fairfax United Methodist Church with Pastors Dan Lamb and Wayne Edingfield officiating.
Interment will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 East Main Street, Hillsboro.
