LeRoy “Tom” Wilkin, 87, of Wilmington, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010 at
Clinton Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 3, 1923 near Lynchburg, the son of the late George R.
and Hattie Williams Wilkin.
Mr. Wilkin was a lifelong farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Briggs Wilkin, whom he married on Jan.
9, 1943; one son, John (Patty) Wilkin of Lynchburg; one daughter, Connie
Wilkin of Clarksville; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers,
Edgar, Everett and Samuel Wilkin; and four sisters, Marjorie Hawk, Evelyn
Turner, Georgeanna Holderby and Lenora Barker.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7 at the Davis-Turner
Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Calvin Martin will officiate. Burial will follow
in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 5-8 p.m.
at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg.
