Leroy Glenn Morgan, 79, of Pricetown, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026.
Glenn was born on Nov. 18, 1946, and was raised in Fairfax, as the ninth of 10 children born to Earl and Bernice Morgan.
Life on a small family farm instilled in him the values of hard work, responsibility, and devotion to family – principles that remained with him throughout his life.
At the age of 19, Leroy was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. While stationed in Karlsruhe, Germany, he served as a tanker truck driver.
After his military service, Glenn went to work at Chrysler Air Temp in Dayton, Ohio. Not long after marrying Carolyn, they moved to their little house on the edge of Pricetown, where he spent the remainder of his days building a life rooted in family, hard work, and community.
Throughout his working years, Glenn was employed by The Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Hillsboro, Irwin Auger Bit Company in Wilmington, and later ABX Air, from which he retired in 2007.
Glenn also dedicated many years to serving his community as a Salem Township Trustee, a position he proudly held for 32 years. His commitment to his neighbors and his willingness to serve reflected the same values of responsibility and dedication that guided his entire life.
Glenn was a devoted father who believed in teaching his children the importance of hard work, responsibility and perseverance. Though he was a firm parent, his guidance came from a place of love and a desire to see his children grow into strong and responsible adults. The lessons he taught and the example he set will continue to live on through his family. Glenn was a hobby farmer at heart. He loved baling hay and spending time on his John Deere tractors. The farm and the land were a big part of who he was and brought him great happiness throughout his life.
Nothing meant more to Glenn than his family. He was incredibly proud of his granddaughters, their accomplishments, and the bright futures ahead of them. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his great-grandson. He loved playing hide-and-seek with Wesley, who would often hide behind Glenn’s walker and believe he was completely hidden. Those moments brought Glenn so much laughter and joy, and they created memories his family will cherish forever.
On Nov. 16, 1968, Leroy married the love of his life, Carolyn Louise Morris Morgan. Together, they shared 57 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, family, hard work and countless memories. Carolyn was his partner through all of life’s seasons, and their devotion to one another was a beautiful example of commitment and love. Carolyn preceded him in death on Sep. 17, 2025. Leroy passed away on July 17, 2026, exactly 10 months to the day after her passing. Though they are no longer together on this earth, their love story continues through the family they built.
He is survived by his daughters, Glenda Morgan and Amanda Morgan of Pricetown; his son, Michael (Kristy) Morgan of Harwood; his granddaughters, Makenzie Morgan of Harwood and Hannah Morgan and her fiancé, Braydon Sellman, of Peebles; and his pride and joy, his grandson, Wesley Michael Sellman.
He is also survived by his sisters, Nancy Pointer of Leesburg, and Joyce (Dick) Brady of The Villages, Fla.; his brother, Delano (Donna) Morgan of Fairfax; his sisters-in-law, Peggy Morris of New Carlisle, Ruth Morgan of New Vienna, and Evelyn Morgan of Kettering; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Bernice Morgan; his brothers, Lloyd (Mary) Morgan, Floyd (Dotty) Morgan, Waldo Morgan and Bill Morgan; and his sisters, Wanda Morgan and Helen (Lewis) Jones. and brother-in-law, Wendell Pointer Junior.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, kindness, and support during this difficult time. Your love and compassion are deeply appreciated as we remember and celebrate Glenn’s life.
Glenn leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love of family, and dedication to his community. His greatest accomplishment was not only the work he did or the things he built, but the family he loved and the lives he shaped. A life well lived, a family well loved, and a legacy that will never be forgotten.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 22 at the Barker Cemetery, Pricetown, with Pastor Troy Roush officiating. The Highland County Veteran's Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.
