Lando J. Chambers
Lando Jean Chambers, 80, of Hillsboro died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012 at the Georgetown Veterans Home.
He was born in Irvin, Ky. on Dec. 1, 1931, the son of the late Orlando and Grace Bell (Collier) Chambers.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene (Helterbran) Chambers, in 1999; and his sisters, Brackie Walker and Paula Stevens.
He was a member of the Folsom United Methodist Church, Highland County Farm Bureau, Sinking Spring F & A.M. Lodge #365 and Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati, and a veteran of the U.S. Army who served in the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Karen Chambers of Hillsboro; Tim and Kathy Chambers of Hillsboro, and son, Kelly Chambers of Hillsboro; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Lowell and Carolyn Chambers of Hillsboro, George E. and Jane Chambers of Hillsboro, and Eldon R. and Mary Chambers of Florida; three sisters and son-in-law, Rae Willis of Hillsboro, Billie Jane Smith of Hillsboro and Patricia and Paul Leach of Kentucky; two grandchildren, Timothy Joseph Chambers and Kary Beth (James) Tosto; and one great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Ileen Jean Tosto.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4 at the Union Cemetery near Belfast with Pastor Ken Woleab officiating, with military honors by the Adams County Honor Guard.
