Kennith Dale "Kenny" Helton, 74, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at his residence.

He was born in Morgan County, Ky. on June 20, 1937, the son of the late Charles Ray Helton and Lydia (Lewis) Helton of Miamisburg.

He was a member of the Carmel Church of God, was a veteran serving in the Air Force and retired as superintendent from Pentair Paper Co.

On July 16, 1957, he was united in marriage to Kathleen "Kay" (Cole) Helton, who survives. He is also survived by his mother, Lydia Helton of Miamisburg; son and daughter-in-law, Karl "Vince" and Marie Helton of Hillsboro; five brothers, Glennis (Linda) Helton of Springboro, Jim (Shanda) of Carlisle, Joe (Brenda) Helton of Hillsboro, Lonnie (Margie) Helton of Springboro and Randy (Shari) Helton of Miamisburg; and three grandchildren, Dustin, Kody and Kaitlyn Helton.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one son, Kennith Dale "Dale" Helton, Jr.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2011 at the Temple of Praise, 9840 Clearcreek-Franklin Road, Miamisburg, Ohio 45342, where friends may call Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Shane Denney and Kenny Williams will officiate with burial to follow in the Springboro Cemetery.

Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
