Kenneth E. Black, 78, of Centerville, died Wednesday afternoon, April 6, 2011 at the Life Care of Sycamore Hospital in Miamisburg.

He was born May 16, 1932 in Reesville, the son of the late Harold F. and Ruth Bernard Black.

Mr. Black was a retired civilian employee of Wright Patterson Air Force base in Fairborn. He was a graduate of Wilmington High School and Miami University.

He is survived by his sister, Janice “Jan” Terrell of Hillsboro; niece Kim (Dennis) Best of Lebanon; nephew Brad (Angie) Terrell of Hillsboro; two great nieces, Miranda (Charles) Newton and Melanie Hertenstein of Hillsboro; two great nephews, Matthew Hertenstein of Hillsboro and Ethan (Ashley) Groves of Lebanon; and three great-great-nephews, Jackson and Jayce Newton and Canton Evans of Hillsboro.

In addition to his parents  he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Black, and one sister, Evelyn J. Little.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. The Turner & Son Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
