Juanita Brown Hamilton, 88 years of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Heartland of Hillsboro.
She was born July 2, 1922 in Wilmington, the daughter of the late William and Tina (Carroll) Brown.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence, Chester and Carl Brown; and two sisters, Dorothy Sheen and Elizabeth Doll Stroup.
Juanita worked at the Green Roof Restaurant and White’s Bakery in Hillsboro, and was a longtime child caregiver for several families.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Dwight A. and Bertha Hamilton of Hillsboro, and Carl William Hamilton of Hillsboro; two grandchildren, Lynette Marie Hamilton and Dwight Paul Hamilton; a stepson, Jim (Carolyn) Hamilton of Hillsboro; and two stepgrandchildren, Timothy (Janie) Hamilton and Ann (John) Yarman.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Thompson Funeral Home.
Brother Jeff Griffin and Kenny Couser will officiate with burial to follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
