Joyce May Ball "Sissy" Howard, 45, of Wilmington, formerly of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Clinton Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 10, 1965 in West Union, the daughter of the late John and Ruth (Ball) Ball.
After many childhood illnesses and an eventual kidney transplant, Sis went on to receive her GED, earned two associate's degrees from Southern State Community College, and was presently working towards her bachelor's degree at Wilmington College.
She is survived by one son, William Andrew Howard III of Wilmington; one sister, Beverly (Jerry) Ries of Wilmington and her best friends, Piper and Shellie.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Father Mike Paraniuk will officiate. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
