John R. Swisshelm, Sr., 91, of Hillsboro, died Monday, July 18, 2011 at his residence.
He was born Sept. 9, 1919 in Hillsboro, the son of the late Glenn and Mabel (Stratton) Swisshelm.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marguerite LeFevre.
He was a lifelong farmer and had worked at the Producer's Livestock Company for 30 years. He was a member of the Highland County Senior Citizens, where he was an avid pool player and loved to dance.
He is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, John and Nina Swisshelm, Jr. of Hillsboro, Ronnie Swisshelm of Hillsboro, Steve Wilson of Washington C.H., Jack and Linda Wilson of Hillsboro; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21 at the Hillsboro Cemetery.
No visitation will be held.
