John Lewis McCoy, 66, of Greenfield, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
He was born April 9, 1945 in Greenfield, the son of the late Lewis C. and Patricia (Carey) McCoy.
He was a retired telephone lineman.
He is survived by his daughters, Katrina McCoy of Waverly and Patricia Whaley of Greenfield; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his sister, Linda Riley of Greenfield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three half-sisters.
In keeping with John's wishes, cremation will take place. A graveside service will take place at a later date.
Calling hours will not be observed.
Anderson-Strueve Funeral Home, Greenfield, is serving the family.

He is survived by his daughters, Katrina McCoy of Waverly and Patricia Whaley of Greenfield; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister, Linda Riley of Greenfield; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Steve Howland.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three half-sisters, Virginia Price, Patty Zint and Charlene Zirckles.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Greenfield Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Chroninger will officiate.
